UEFA Euro 2024 football (also known as soccer in North America and Australia) championship will take place in Germany from June 14th till July 14th, 2024. There are ten cities hosting the games Berlin, Dortmund, Munich, Cologne, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen and Düsseldorf.

Let’s explore some details about the participants, the tournament format and some interesting facts, while we are waiting for the competition.

Euro 2024 Participants

The following countries qualified to participate in the tournament:

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czechia, Denmark, England, France, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Scotland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine.

Euro 2024 Group Stage

The teams are divided into six groups of four teams each. 16 teams qualify to the Round of 16. They will be the winners of the groups, runners-up, and four best teams that hold third place in their groups after the group stage competition.

The group stage will last from June 14th till June 26th.

Euro 2024 Round of 16

The round of 16 will be played from June 29th till July 2nd. In the playoff stage if the game is tied at the end of normal playing time, extra time is played in the format of two periods of 15 minutes each. If still tied after extra time, the result of the match is decided by a penalty shoot-out.

Quarter-Finals

The quarter-finals will be played on July 5th and July 6th.

Semi-Finals

The semi finals will be played on July 9th in Munich and July 10th in Dortmund.

Euro 2024 Final

The final will be played on July 14th in Berlin.
