Second generation of Hoka’s first carbon plated trail running shoes is released in less than a year after the original release in June 2022.
Only upper part was updated and features more durable while also more light weight structure which was made possible due to the use of kevlar threads. The technology is named Matryx by the manufacturer.

Hoka Tecton X 2 Upper Part
Hoka Tecton X 2 brings a dynamic shift to the sport, has undergone reengineering to maximize weight reduction and improve performance. The upper part is breathable characteristics but also possesses inherent hydrophobic properties. The high-contrast design ensures both visibility and style while traversing the trails. To enhance its trail-running capabilities even further, the Tecton X 2 incorporates a lay-flat gusseted tongue, which serves the purpose of preventing trail debris from entering the shoe.

Hoka Tecton X 2 Responsive Energy
A standout feature of the Tecton X 2 is its propulsive nature achieved by implementing parallel carbon fiber plates, same as in previous generation. These carbon fiber plates deliver responsiveness and efficiency during running, establishing the Tecton X 2 as a favored choice among trail running enthusiasts.
Through its combination of lightweight construction, breathability, hydrophobic properties, and trail-specific attributes such as the lay-flat gusseted tongue, the Tecton X 2 aims to provide optimal performance and comfort for trail runners. Whether conquering rugged trails or embarking on long-distance adventures, the Tecton X 2 strives to be a trustworthy and capable companion.
