Marta Kostyuk is looking to get her second WTA title. First one she won last March in WTA 250 tournament in Austin, these two tournaments happen simultaneously right before Indian Wells. Kostyuk Boulter San Diego final is today, March 3rd 2024.

Marta Kostyuk reached quarter finals at Australian Open just over a month ago, which is the highest stage she reached at Grand Slam tournaments. Marta is currently 34th in WTA rankings.

27 y.o. Katie Boulter from Britain currently stands on 48th position in WTA ranking, which is her highest. She also won one WTA title to date, which was 2023 Canberra Tennis International WTA 125. She is currently British player number one in WTA.

Kostyuk is nervous and emotional during the opening games, visibly complaining to her coach. Many unforced errors from both players. As the result Boulter breaks the serve in third game. Kostyuk finds needed confidence in the next game after and breaks her serve while playing great near the net. 2:2 after first four games.

Another two games won by Katie Boulter. She seems to have the situation with unforced errors fixed, while Kostyuk started to make a lot of errors. Powerful and confident play by British player.

While it almost started to look like a done deal for Boulter, Kostyuk found some potential to win a game on her serve and know is hoping to break. 3:2 Boulter leads.

With two aces in the final game the history is made by Katie Boulter. Her biggest tournament won so far and she establishes herself in top 30 of WTA ranking.
