In a recent announcement, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame revealed the five finalists for the 2024 Bob Cousy Award, recognizing the nation’s top collegiate point guard, Mark Sears, Alabama Basketball guard, appears in the list.
Despite initially being left off the semifinal list, the Muscle Shoals native, Mark Sears, Alabama Crimson Tide guard, was named a finalist for the prestigious award.
Great performing guard of Alabama Basketball improved significantly during his senior year the s season. He averages over 20 points per game with high field goal percentage.

“I would have to go look at all those other four other players, I think there’s five on the finalists to see what the efficiency numbers are. My guess he would be the most efficient one. He’s not a guy that takes a lot of bad shots, he’s not a volume guy that needs 30 shots to get his points. He’s had big scoring outputs on 10 shots this year,”, said Nate Oats, head coach of Alabama Crimson Tide.
March Madness Plans
The team has one last match to play in Southeastern Conference this coming Saturday against Arkansas. Depending on the result of this match, where Alabama is considered to be a favorite, the team will be seeded second or third from the Conference.
Tennessee wins the conference with confidence having 14 wins this season, with seven games streak without a loss recently. Four other teams are tied with 12 wins each. They are Alabama Crimson Tide, South Carolina Gamecocks, Auburn Tigers and Kentucky Wildcats.
